Ajibade Babalade, a former Tremendous Eagles defender, has died after struggling cardiac arrest.
Based on PUNCH, Babalade, 48, died whereas being rushed to the College School Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.
He’s survived by a spouse and three youngsters, who’re all primarily based within the US.
The retired defender was a squad member of the Eagles that gained bronze on the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
Ex-Eagles goalkeeper and Babaladeâ€™s Senegal â€™92 teammate, Ike Shorunmu, confirmed the loss of life of the Lagos-born ex-footballer.
Shorunmu instructed PUNCH that he was knowledgeable of his friendâ€™s loss of life within the afternoon after attending Jumat service.
â€œI went to the mosque for Jumat service this afternoon (Friday), so I switched off my cellphone. Instantly I put it again on, I acquired a message from Ajibadeâ€™s in-law that I wanted to be at his place. So, I went with my spouse, however on our arrival, the (Babaladeâ€™s) household broke the information to me,â€ Shorumnu mentioned.
